This work is an archive of the waiting in between. The different waiting moments one could have depending on the context.

Cross the legs,
 touch the neck and the face.
 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ...

I feel very happy with
Musmig opening today, because this means: validation, community, solidarity and
resistance



A museum of migration
enables history from different perspectives and habilitates voices in a long
lasting and sustainable form. Stories of so many people that the hidden spots
of other museums were not able address from the inside, OUR stories.

 &#38;nbsp;The collective memory of the migrants is taken
into account and is safe. To have a memory is to not forget those roads.A Museum of
Migration give us a space to questions, study, analyse and debate about who we
are and how do we go on? But also who gets to whose story and how.



 



It also validates
many things about identities and gives us the chance to say it ourselves – we
can study, live it and be represented in the structural scope.



 
MUSMIG is a place
to encounter different people and ideas and to reflect on them with a look at
the memory, debiting on the present and considering the future. Now Musmig will
be constant, and will deep into the anthropological, artistic, and cultural
topics to provoke, debate, unlearn and be active in &#38;nbsp;political levels-

zu feiern und anzunehmen.



"Daher feiern wir die Schaffung eines Museums, das
sich der Bedeutung der Migration in Österreich bewusst ist, sie reflektiert und

		<description>Performance and Video Installation: “Espera Loop“
“Espera
Loop” is a performance by Mexican musician Citlali Gómez Escobar and Nicaraguan
artist Gabriela Urrutia Reyes, both based in Vienna. It was created in Spring
2024 as part of a project of the same name. Commissioned by MUSMIG (Museum der
Migration), the performance was featured in the events of Tage der Bescheide,
Moving In, Moving Out, within the framework of Before It Gets Better, organized
and hosted by the Volkskundemuseum Wien.
“Espera
Loop” explores and reflects not only on the fears, insecurities and
apprehensions that migrants may experiment every time their visas expire but
also on the patters and states of movement and waiting that they undergo while
trying to settle in a new country —Austria, in this case. Are you forced to
wait, or is waiting a choice? Do you wait for chance to come or for someone to
intervene? What are the things that you do while you wait? How does your body
respond to waiting?... Waiting, while deeply personal, can also be a collective
act, an experience where movements align and synchronize with the other ones
around you. Waiting is filled of repetition and oscillations. Waiting can be an
act of resistance.
Espera
Loop´s performance unfolds a dialogue between the two artists, combining poetry
and texts along with the piano music to evoke the different states and feelings
that one can experience during moments of waiting. This dialogue is also
intricately tied to the scenography and soft installation, which features
waiting numbers that evolve into a central protagonist of the performance.Illustrations &#38;amp; Collages

	The Places we carry



	The Places We Carry is a performance that first started at Austrian
trainstations, such as Wien Hauptbahnhof and Wien Meidling. A character is
carrying her colourful living room with her and setting it up on the platform.
It begs the question, what places we carry with us when we are on the
move. What traces do we leave behind? &#38;nbsp;What am I feeling when I travel? Are all
journeys the same? 


How are globalization and consumerism affecting the environment in which we
travel and transit? Why are spaces of transit sometimes forcing us to move in a
certain way when we could instead take advantage of the knowledge each different
journey brings?


The statement of this project is that everybody moves and travels
differently, whether you are a local, migrant, tourist… every person carries
their own places with them (life stories, memories, experiences) and while in
transit it might happen that we bring our places along with us.&#38;nbsp; 


Spaces of transit should not be standardized based only on the needs of
market and capital; but start recognizing the diversity in its users. Where are
the emotions, colours, sensations, smells, music, and humani


The Places We Carry is an intervention at the Austrian train stations,
for which a character carrying a potted plant, cushions, and a rug sets it up
in space to create a welcoming place similar to a living room. A living room
sometimes is the core of a house, is a point of connection; you can share it,
you can receive guests, but at the same you can enjoy your personal time, you
can feel comfortable and calm it. You can belong there.






The next step of the

	“DICEN” - THEY SAYWhat can we get of online intense debates about
political and provocative topics in social media? Sometimes our source of
information is an echo of voices that don’t guarantee veracity. How can we work
with a scenario with all this noise?Does expressing our opinions online make
any difference in the offline world? Why can’t we just hold back our thoughts? What
do we accomplish when we enter into this online fighting loop?


When a discussion
is really emotional and touches you, sometimes is very difficult to be rational
and think on the consequences of your comments; but, could you really be quiet
and not give your opinion? Could you be truly calm in a context that you feel
you need to say something; because what the others are saying is maybe wrong,
misleading, nonsense, false?


“They say”,
sometimes is the way of receiving information in some countries, other times is
the way we spread gossips and unverified news; but also, can be the action of
reading all the comments that you can find on a topic from social medial that
triggered many strong reactions.
 “The say”
comments could take also another level of perception if you are living abroad,
these comments, sometimes could become your way of being connected with certain
topics of your home country, however, you don’t always know how to react
towards these comments. Some questions arise as a person watching from the
distance, what is true? What is not? Do I have the right to bring my opinion if
I am not present in the country? Who do I believe? Which side am I taking?


Political,
social and health crisis that societies have to undergo provoke in people a lot
of stress, trauma, frustrations, and sometimes these emotions combined with the
necessity of expressing what we think on social media, could create&#38;nbsp; intense arguments if people disagree on their
points of views.


Would you
interact and debate online to cause reactions on others?


Or would you
only prefer to watch from the distance?


“They say” started as an interactive installation
„DICEN“ at the Exhibition Human by Machine at the Museum of applied Arts
Vienna (MAK), part of the EU program INTERREG V-A Slovakia–Austria.

Facade Stage is a project is placed in Haus St Barbara, Vienna. It is home
for Elderly people where approximately 85% of its inhabitants have dementia.



Caritas and the Social Design Studio, in
collaboration, presented a framework in order to change the back Facade of the
building, now very opaque and dusty, and propose and design a space,
environment that could be used as a tool of communication, representation, or
even dreaming for their residents.



However, being in a context where we have to deal
with Dementia, (a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory, severe
enough to reduce a person's ability to perform everyday activities), questions
during this process were raised in order to understand what we cannot control
and what elements can we prioritize in the design process:



What types of memories elderly carry with them? What memories do they bring
to places in order to not forget? Could a Facade be able to transmit feelings
or positive reactions? What can we design that is beautiful for an elderly
person? And would be the same thing also beautiful for a person dementia? Or
should we design only a tool of distraction to take people out of the daily day
boredom? How?

I have been dealing most of my adult life with OCD. I try to hide it as much as possible because is not a norm, but now, I have decided&#38;nbsp; to ask ourselves WHY, but really WHY!? not all of us are stressed by these obnoxious and absurd moments of life that are affecting the little peace and order we could control in our environment.

&#38;nbsp;
The obsessive compulsive disorder takes over this time in the third District of Vienna. This time I cannot make a blind eye to everything that was
breaking a sequence, cleanness, corners, a regular shape was spot during this walk, and of
course, getting on my nerves. :)
